Minecraft expands with 1.8 and this Tuesday's release GoW 3! [VGW 19/09/11]

Minecraft 1.8 got released on the 14th this month and I wonder how many of you went crazy! I certainly did. After seeing all the new features Notch and Jeb implemented, I was over-impressed. The game has been taken to such a whole new level that the new terrain generation makes the predecessor's exploration look silly. We now have; deeep oceans, rivers, mountains, strongholds, ravines, npc villages, the list goes on..

A NPC Village exluding its citizens, a future 1.9 addition

Thats only a slice of this creative cake and talking of creativity, we now have creative mode! Getting tormented by creepers blowing up your house? Make a 100 room hotel in creative using the new item selection window and in-game flying at your will. Theres a whole host of new blocks and items available to you! I Previously mentioned Strongholds, use it's new blocks, the stone bricks, to give your building a bit more notorious look. If your fed up of them chunky glass blocks, fret no more, for we now have glass panes. This nifty invention are akin to fences but just transparent and, obviously, made of glass. And if glass panes were to revealing for you...try the new iron bars another block apart of the multitude of blocks that create the so called strongholds.

Enderman, one look is all it takes
I myself have been playing Minecraft alot and have encountered nearlly if not all of these new features but one that has been caught by the community are the Enderman. These new mobs are not as destructive as creepers but if you give them that look and there onto you like a heat-seeking missile. They are tall, dark figures that stalk the lands at night time often carrying a block of dirt. The Enderman mostly stay in pairs and can be normally found in open flat plain areas. They can kill you in about 3 hits but do have an unusual weakness, water. Instead of lava burning your usual mob, Enderman die in water so if your ever being chased, run to the nearest pool!

Ready to pounce, the new lambent Berserker
Well thats Minecraft, so lets move onto this Tuesday's big release coming from Epic Games, Gears of War 3. We all know it'd happen, Marcus Fenix's long awaited third and final entry into the story where we see an overwhelming Locust horde. But thats just a segment of your enemy. Lambent Locust are now two times as strong as their normal counterparts and if you thought berserkers were hard, try it's lambent cousin. They can jump around like a grasshopper with their four large arms that stretch out from their backs. Thats just a snippet of information for you, if you crave more, I'll be uploading day one footage so you can find out everything you need to know from Epic's latest, Gears of War 3, hitting shelves this 20th September 2011

Stay frosty and remember, water is your friend!
